A wine grounded firmly in place. The 2021 season demanded close attention — picking in small passes, allowing each parcel to arrive in its own time. There is a sense of quiet completeness here. Violet, spice, and the imprint of Beechworth granite. The fruit sits in a savoury register, lifted, with fine tannins carrying the line. This is a wine of cadence rather than power — it lingers, rather than insists.
We believe this is one of the finest Syrah in Australia, if not the New World. At least if the measuring stick is the Northern Rhône.
